Setup
Configure the channel and voting behavior from the dashboard.
Open /dashboard/<guildId>/suggestions. The page shows the suggestion settings first, followed by the stored suggestions for that server. Settings save through /api/settings/[guildId], and the bot caches suggestion settings for 30 seconds, so allow a short delay before testing a newly changed channel or emoji.
- 1
Choose a Suggestion Channel
Select the text channel where members should post suggestions. Messages in this channel are converted to cards; messages elsewhere are ignored.
- 2
Choose a Staff Role
Members with this role can use the Approve / Reject buttons on Discord cards. Anyone with Manage Server or Administrator can always review, with or without the role.
- 3
Set vote emoji
Enter an upvote emoji and downvote emoji. Empty values fall back to
👍and👎; the API accepts strings up to 64 characters. - 4
Enable Auto-Create Discussion Thread if wanted
When enabled, the bot starts a thread under each suggestion card using
Discussion: <first 40 characters>and a one-week auto-archive duration. - 5
Save and test
Post a short message in the suggestion channel. The original message should disappear and be replaced by a Components v2 suggestion card.
Required bot permissions
The bot must be able to View Channel, Send Messages, Manage Messages to delete the original post, and Create Public Threads when auto-threading is enabled. If the suggestion includes an image, Discord must allow the bot to display media in that channel.
The dashboard validates channel and role IDs against the current guild. If you paste or select a channel from another server, the API rejects the save with “The suggestion channel does not belong to this server.”
