Setup
Configure the starboard from the dashboard.
Open /dashboard/<guildId>/starboard. The dashboard loads text channels, then saves to /api/starboard/[guildId]. A missing config displays safe defaults: disabled, no channel, minimum 3, and emoji ⭐.
- 1
Choose the starboard channel
Pick the text channel where highlighted messages should be mirrored. The API refuses to enable Starboard until a channel is selected.
- 2
Set the trigger emoji
Use a Unicode emoji such as
⭐, a full custom emoji mention such as<:name:id>, or the custom emoji ID. The value must be 1–64 characters. - 3
Set the minimum stars
Choose a threshold from
2to20. The dashboard clamps the stepper to the same range used by the API. - 4
Turn Starboard on
Use the enable toggle, then click Save settings. The next matching reaction will read the new values from the database.
- 5
Test with a real message
React to a message outside the starboard channel until it reaches the threshold. The bot should post the board copy in the selected channel.
Required bot permissions
PaulCLI needs View Channel and Read Message History where reactions happen, plus View Channel, Send Messages, and Embed Links in the starboard channel. If it cannot fetch messages or send embeds, the sync quietly skips or logs a warning.
