Troubleshooting
Common reasons welcome or goodbye messages do not appear.
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No welcome message | welcomeEnabled is false, welcomeChannelId is null, or the channel is not text-based. | Enable Welcome Message and select a text channel in /dashboard/<guildId>/welcome. |
| No goodbye message | goodbyeEnabled is false or no goodbye channel is set. | Enable Goodbye Message and choose a channel. Logging can still run without goodbye. |
| Variables stay unchanged | The placeholder name is not supported or contains characters outside w. | Use the exact variables listed in Settings reference, such as {username}. Unknown variables are left as-is. |
| Embed or V2 color is ignored | The value is not a valid #rrggbb hex color. | Use the color picker or enter a 7-character hex value such as #14b8a6. |
| V2 images or buttons disappear | The API removes invalid URLs and limits media to 10 images and links to 3 buttons. | Use http:// or https:// URLs and stay under the limits. |
| Canvas card becomes plain text | Image rendering failed, usually because the avatar or font/image renderer could not load. | The bot logs a warning and falls back to the text message. Try again with default card colors and a reachable avatar. |
Partial leave data
When Discord only provides partial member data on leave, the bot tries to fetch the member and then continues even if the fetch fails. Some variables may fall back to member, empty avatar, or current time.
