Common Levels issues and fixes.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No one earns XP | No config row exists or enabled is false. | Enable Levelling in /dashboard/<guildId>/levels and save. |
| Text messages earn XP slowly | A 60s per-user cooldown is active. | Wait at least one minute between eligible messages when testing. |
| Voice members earn no XP | They are alone, in AFK, deafened, self-deafened, or inside the 3m grant interval. | Test with at least two non-bot humans, both undeafened, outside the AFK channel. |
| Saving CHANNEL alerts fails | The API requires alertChannelId when alertMode is CHANNEL. | Select a text channel or choose DM / DISABLED. |
| Reward role not granted | Role is missing or the bot cannot manage it. | Move the bot role above the reward role and grant Manage Roles. |
| Rank card falls back to an embed | Canvas rendering failed. | Reset the layout or remove invalid remote background images, then save again. |
Leaderboards hide zero XP
Both the command and dashboard leaderboard ignore members with 0 XP. A member appears only after earning positive XP.
