Setup
Create a giveaway from the web dashboard.
Open /dashboard/<guildId>/giveaways to use the giveaway configurator. The dashboard validates the target channel, role requirements and duration before saving anything, so most mistakes are caught before the bot posts to Discord.
- 1
Choose the prize and channel
Enter the prize name, set
winnersCount, and select the text channel where the giveaway should appear. - 2
Set the duration
Use minutes, hours or days. Dashboard launches must last at least 1 minute and no more than 90 days.
- 3
Add optional requirements
Pick a required role and/or a minimum Discord account age in whole days. A value of 0 days is saved as no account-age requirement.
- 4
Customise the layout
Keep
legacyembeds or choosev2components. You can set accent colour, image URL, button label, button style, button emoji, title, body text and footer. - 5
Launch or draft
Launch saves
ended=falseand no message id; the bot posts it within about 8 seconds. Draft savesended=true, so it stays parked and is not posted.
Required bot permissions
PaulCLI must be able to view and send messages in the target channel. Dashboard launches that hit Missing Permissions, Missing Access or Unknown Channel are marked ended so they do not retry forever.
You can also start a basic giveaway directly in Discord with /giveaway start. Slash-command giveaways do not include dashboard-only requirements or layout v2 fields unless edited in storage by code.
