Setup

Turn on filters and decide what happens when each one triggers.

Open /dashboard/<guildId>/automod. The dashboard starts with the database defaults when no AutoMod row exists. Toggle only the filters you want, then choose an action per filter. Saving calls /api/automod/[guildId]; the API upserts the guild row if needed and stores arrays such as domains and bad words as JSON strings.

  1. 1

    Enable Spam Protection

Set the maximum messages and window in seconds. The dashboard input allows 2–20 messages and 2–30 seconds; defaults are 5 messages in 5 seconds.

  2. 2

    Configure Link Filter

Turn on blockLinks and add allowed domains such as youtube.com. Hosts matching the domain or its subdomains are allowed.

  3. 3

    Configure Caps Filter

Turn on antiCaps and pick an uppercase percentage from the slider. The default threshold is 70%.

  4. 4

    Configure Bad Words

Turn on badWordsFilter and add blocked words or phrases. Matches are case-insensitive substring checks.

  5. 5

    Choose actions

Each rule can DELETE, WARN, TIMEOUT, KICK, or BAN. If any rule uses TIMEOUT, set the shared timeout duration in seconds.

  6. 6

    Save

Click Save AutoMod. The panel confirms “AutoMod settings saved. Active on next message.”

Required bot permissions

AutoMod always tries to delete the offending message first, so Manage Messages is required. TIMEOUT needs Moderate Members. KICK and BAN need Kick Members and Ban Members. The bot role must be above members it times out, kicks, or bans.
