Editor guide

How to use the canvas: adding, configuring and connecting blocks.

Open Workflow in the dashboard sidebar (/dashboard/<serverId>/workflow). The editor is canvas-first: the whole area is the drawing surface; the block library and the block inspector slide in over it when needed.

Toolbar

Workflow switcher
The name on the left opens a list of this server's workflows (status, block count, run count) and a New workflow button. The pencil renames the current one.
Live / Paused
Whether the bot executes this workflow. Enable is disabled while you have unsaved changes — save first.
Save
Validates and persists the graph. Ctrl/⌘+S works too. The Unsaved badge shows pending changes.
Delete
Removes the workflow (asks for confirmation).
Fullscreen
Takes the whole browser viewport. Esc exits.

Adding blocks

  1. 1

    Open the library

Click + Add block (top-left of the canvas). Blocks are grouped by kind and sub-grouped (Messages, Members, Voice, Server, Bot modules…). The search box filters by name or description.

  2. 2

    Place it

Click a block to drop it at the centre of the view, or drag it onto the canvas where you want it.

  3. 3

    Chain from a block

Every output is a + button. Click it to open the library in attach mode: the block you pick is placed next to the source and connected automatically. For conditions, YES attaches slightly above and NO slightly below.

Connecting blocks

Drag from a + output to the grey input dot on the left of another block. Fan-out is allowed (one output → many blocks); fan-in too (many outputs → one block). You cannot connect into a trigger, connect a block to itself, or create the same connection twice. Logic gates show labelled inputs A/B/C — drop the line on the one you want.

Configuring a block

Click a block to open the inspector on the right. Required settings are marked with *; channels and roles are pickers populated from your server. Text fields marked with {} accept variables. Remove block at the bottom deletes it with its connections.

Reading the canvas

  • A yellow triangle on a block means a required setting is empty.
  • A red triangle means the block can never get what it needs from the trigger upstream (for example Reply to message after Member joined) — hover it or open the inspector for the exact reason.
  • Edge colours: grey for normal flow, green for a yes branch, red for a no branch.
  • The mini-map (bottom-right) hides while the inspector is open. Zoom with the wheel or the + / − buttons; the ⛶ button fits everything in view.
